Bob Shapiro
Founder, The Shapiro Network, Inc.Bob Shapiro has been a consultant to life insurance companies and other related organizations for more than 50 years, specializing in strategic management and mergers and acquisitions.
Bob formed The Shapiro Network, Inc. in 1987 and, over the years, he has worked with hundreds of North American life insurers including most of the largest 50 companies. He has also worked with a number of overseas insurance and non-insurance organizations seeking to build-up, acquire or divest significant insurance operations.
Prior to forming The Shapiro Network, Inc., Bob was Managing Director of the Insurance Investment Banking division of Merrill Lynch. His other past experience includes more than 20 years as an insurance industry consultant, the most recent five as Director of Life Insurance Consulting for Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby (TPF&C).
Bob is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Chartered Life Underwriter. He is a regular speaker and author on the management and diversification of insurance companies.
Bob is a member of the Executive Board of the Pacific Insurance Conference, a Trustee of the American College and an Emeritus Trustee of the Actuarial Foundation. He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Society of Actuaries and is a former director of First Colony Corporation and John Deere Insurance Group.
