
Doug French
PartnerDoug French is a senior consultant with over 35 years of experience as a client advisor, including all aspects of the insurance value chain. From 1999 to 2020, French built and ran Ernst & Young’s (EY) Actuarial Practice within the United States. During his tenure, EY’s practice grew to be the largest of the “Big Four” accounting firms. He also served as leader of the firm’s Global Actuarial Network, and as North American Insurance Sector leader.
Previous to EY, French served in various leadership positions for Tillinghast – Towers Perrin (currently known as Willis Towers Watson), which included stints serving clients from offices in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
French is a strategic thinker who draws from both his global experiences and industry knowledge to translate concepts and business models into actual strategies and tactics for clients.
Currently, French serves as a Director of the Bermuda run-off reinsurer, Fortitude Re, and Chief Actuary of Wamberg Genomic Advisors, a genomics as a program company.
French is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. Doug is an Ex-Corporate Advisory member of the International Association of Black Actuaries, a College Advisory Council participant at the University of Texas at Austin and Emeritus Trustee of the Actuarial Foundation. In 2018, Doug received the Society of Actuaries Distinguished Service Award for significant contribution to the actuarial profession.
