As the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the M Financial Group from 2000 to 2019, Randy O’Connor helped build the largest producer owned reinsurance company in the country allowing the company to build competitive product offerings. As CFO, O’Connor was the architect of innovative compensation system which invented Member Firms to produce quality production. O’Connor also served for a period as President of M Securities, a hybrid broker-dealer RIA with an understanding of the compliance, supervision, operations required to provide FINRA/SEC regulated products to clients. Previously, O’Connor served as the North American Practice Leader of the Integrated Risk and Capital Management Practice for Tillinghast-Towers Perrin (currently Willis Towers Watson). O’Connor began his actuarial career with positions at Combined Insurance, United Insurance, and Northwestern Mutual.
O’Connor Served on the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Reinsurance Committee for 13 years. O’Connor also served on the Board of the Oregon College of Art and Craft for 13 years in addition to serving as its Chair and Interim President.
O’Connor is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). O’Connor is also an adjunct faculty member with Portland State University’s School fo Business Administration. O’Connor serves on the Board of Bridge Financial.
O’Connor holds a B.A. and Master’s degrees from Northwestern University.
